As part of our general Sustainability and Environmental policy we have calculated and offset our carbon impact by donating sufficient compensatory funds to earn our Carbon Balanced certification from the World Land Trust.
World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats. Working through a network of partner organisations around the world, WLT funds the creation of reserves and provides permanent protection for habitats and wildlife.
Partnerships are developed with established and highly respected local organisations who engage support and commitment among the local community.
World Land Trust’s Carbon Balanced programme was established in 2005 to provide both individuals and organisations with the most effective method of fighting climate change. After initially measuring our carbon footprint and taking all reasonable steps to reduce it, we ‘offset’ our unavoidable emissions, funding the protection and care of forests that store harmful Carbon Dioxide.
World Land Trust (WLT) work only in highly biodiverse areas that are under threat from human activity, where they can ensure endangered species are protected and local communities receive the support they need to develop sustainable livelihoods, pursue educational opportunities, and play a leading role in the conservation of their land. On the ground, WLT partners restore degraded forests, plant new trees, and protect the well-established primary forests frequently referred to as “carbon sinks”.
